Thank you, Westchester!
Our 3rd Annual Westchester Garden Walk was a smashing success. The weather was perfect, the attendees were eager, the volunteers were motivated, and the gardens were gorgeous. We raised even more funds for the Westchester Food Pantry than we anticipated! At our Monday, July 26th member meeting, we presented the pantry's Executive Director, Amanda Grant, with the proceeds from the walk. $4,600!
We would like to thank this year's walk sponsors, homeowners, attendees, and volunteers once again--- YOU made this event a success. With $4,600, the pantry can acquire over $41,000 of food through the Greater Chicago Food Depository!
Grassroots Garden Group believes that a community is not unlike a garden-- you get out of it what you put into it. With a bit of time, energy, and dedication they can both thrive, and the rewards are well worth the effort. Westchester is a beautiful village full of wonderful people. We are proud to do our part in keeping it beautiful and helping our neighbors in need. The satisfaction that comes with gardening is only amplified when paired with community service, and nothing brings us more joy than the satisfaction of helping others. Let's bloom together!
